Birdie In The Nest..........Autumn week at SplodgeAway DT

Hi All, Autumn in all its glory is to be found on the SplodgeAway Blog this week and here is my project.
The mask was coloured with various Autumn shades of Distress Inks and then mounted onto thick card. Initially , my thoughts were to create a wreath effect  around the circular area, but whilst having a coffee and watching the birds through the window, as they munched on the Catoneaster Berries near the hedge, then swiftly popped back in, I changed my mind and instead decided to create a card depicting the little bird inside its nest. I will leave it up to you which way you see this card though.
The Joanna Sheene stamp was stamped into the cenre and coloured with Prisma Colour Pencils.
I then had great fun die cutting Leaves with a Tim  Holtz Die and colouring them with Distress Inks. Other leaves are of metal that I embossed using the Cuttlebug and coloured with Alcohol Inks.

To add some other effects and a bit more rough and ready dimension to the nest I added curls of twine and wire of varying thicknesses. A Few red berries linked the stamped image and Voila!! my take on the Birdie in its nest!!
Hope you have enjoyed seeing this and thank you for any comments you choose to leave.

Until next time enjoy your crafty moments!!!

Altered C.D. Project For SplodgeAway DT Week

Hi All
Thanks for stopping by. Today I want to show you a little keep-sake Imade using free C.d.'s and a cereal box!!!! Hoping the is really self explanatory with just a few guide lines.
I loved creating this for SplodgeAway. Pop over to the blog....it's re-use and recycle week there.
I began by cutting a small strip away from my C.D. s. If you warm them a LITTLE before hand it makes them less brittle and easier to cut. I used 5 for this project and covered the silver sides with various shades of alcohol ink. I wanted to keep the colour quite Autumnal for this project.
The cereal box was used to make 5 covers for the C.D.s, each was treated with various layers of ink through the Dot The Lot mask....this was the base for all sides. Embossed swirls and then text were added and the circles cut to fit the C.D.s.

At this stage I used a Bind It All to make the binding holes in the C.D.s. I found it best to do them individually.

The mask of many faces was used to create small framed images on 3 sides of this project. The frames for the faces again came from the cereal packaging. They were run through a script embossing folder prior to being coloured with Distress Inks and mounted on 3D tape for dimension.
The other 2 sides were treated in a similar manner but just chosen words added to the insides of the frames.
Flowers, lace. leaves and gems were added as the final embellishments and the whole thing bound together.

And a few pics of the "pages" when they are open............

So here are the pics hope you like it .
Happy Crafting and thanks for any comments you choose to leave

Thoughts Of The Sea

Hi All,
Here are a few little A.T.C.s I have made. The Summer seems a long time ago now!!!! but I was really drawn to making a few little ones with a sea theme.
So, Here they are.

Used a Gesso Squelch technique for the background a shell stamp, embossed, and glitter glued, some sacking and a beautiful mermaid image. Used the glitter glue to highlight her shimmery body and was pleased with the effect I got.

                                                         MERMAID AT REST

Love this mermaid stamp by Ryn and the bubbles. Filled the bubbles in with Glossy Accents for dimention and the little fish is a button I had. Cut paper strips for the sea weed and used Flower Soft for texture. Tiny shells were the last addition forrthe sea-bed.

So just a quickie for today. Hope everyone is well and will be getting to ALL your blogs very soon !!!
Apologies I haven't done so lately..life got in the way!!!
Happy Crafting
