Hi, Everyone
Hope you have all kept warm in this snowy weather and found some time to craft! The schools have been closed here for some days so both children have been at home!!
Over at ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE BLOG, it is time for our new challenge.
Challenge85 calls for your MONOCHROME creations, so I know you will all have lots of stash on hand for this and plenty of exciting ideas.
I really hope you will pop over and join us in the fun. You can link in HERE, and pop and see what my lovely teamies have also created for your inspiration.
SO...... this is my first design team project.
I decided, been as I can never find paper and pen when I need it, that I would make a little memo pad and pen holder. Here it is. Hope you enjoy it.
The handbag blank is made up of several layers. I cut just one layer from it to make my design shape and covered it with black and white spotted papers from my stash. The top flap was created using a journalling card and layered onto the base, using foam pads. A faux leather effect lock and side straps was made by die cuttung card using PaperArtsy's Hardware 1 and then embossing the pieces in a cuttlebug with the Stylized Flower embossing folder. This die also produces the little faux design label for the base of the bag. Everyone needs a designer label !!
The pieces were coloured and the handbag edged, with black soot distress ink to add a little definition and a row of little black gems at the top of the bag gives a little bling! Every girl needs bling!!
The flowers were die cut from black glitter card using PaperArtsy Grunge flower 3, snipped at intervals along the edge to give a bit of height and a small white flower and gem added to each. The leaves were made using Marianne Creatable....Forest Branch. These were all positioned and stuck down with glossy accents. A magazine freebie trim was adhered to the bottom edgeand two holes were punched at the top of the bag ready to insert some black hanging chain.
The back was covered as before and then a memo pad attached over a ribbon trim and adhered with strong tape. The same ribbon was rolled around a mini cardboard tube and stuck down to house the pen. Finally the chain was added .Hopefully now I will always find a paper and pen when I need it!!!!!!
Hope you enjoyed seeing this.............below are the ingredients.
